Questions

How often do these Sorcery card prices update?

Daily. A scheduled job pulls TCGplayer data each evening (UTC) via tcgcsv.com, so the table is never more than about a day behind the listings. Last refresh: 2026-09-02.

What exactly is the price in the table?

The cheapest current listing in Near Mint condition for that finish — what you would pay to buy the card today. It is not an average and not an appraisal. Every card page also shows the recent-sales market value, which is what copies have actually been changing hands for; on desktop you can hover any price in the table to see it inline.

Why is a card listed far above its market value?

Because one seller has parked a copy at an optimistic price and nobody else has it listed. The headline figure is the cheapest listing that exists, so on a card with almost no supply it can sit well above what the card trades for — 196 of the finishes tracked here are listed at 1.5x their market value or more. When those two numbers disagree, the market value is the better guide, and the card page states both.

Why does the same card appear twice?

Because it was printed in more than one set, and TCGplayer prices each printing as a separate product. 407 card names appear more than once here, covering 819 of the 1,524 rows. The gap can be enormous: Blink is $68.02 in Alpha and $0.21 in Beta, about 324x apart. Check the set before you buy or sell — every card page lists its other printings.

Why do some cards show a dash instead of a price?

A dash means there is no current listing and no recent sale for that finish, so there is nothing honest to quote. Crusade and Jihad are a separate case — they are delisted from TCGplayer entirely, so no price exists at any condition. They stay in the table with a ? marker rather than being hidden, because a card you cannot find reads as a bug. Neither is shown as $0.00: unlisted is not the same as worthless.

What is the most expensive Sorcery single?

By recent-sales market value, Ruler of Thul at about $2,601. Chase foils move the most and the order changes, so sort the table by price for today's figure. Note that sorting by price ranks by the cheapest listing, which on a thin card can be higher than what it trades for.

Are foil Sorcery cards worth more than non-foil?

Almost always, and often by a lot. Foils are a separate, much scarcer printing rather than a finish applied to the same pool, so they are priced as their own product — a foil frequently runs 5-20x its non-foil twin, and the chase foils far more. Use the Non-foil / Foil toggle above the table to compare like for like.

What do the rarities mean?

Four, scarcest last: Ordinary, Exceptional, Elite, Unique. Rarity describes how heavily a card was printed, not how many different cards carry that rarity — the catalogue tracks 387 Ordinary, 425 Exceptional, 357 Elite, 327 Unique, which is a different count and does not run in the same order. Rarity tracks price only loosely: a heavily played Ordinary routinely beats an Elite nobody wants. Filter with the Type control above the table, or on any set page.

Is a booster box worth more than buying singles?

Depends what you want. A sealed box is $110 to $1,998 depending on the set, and the expected value of what comes out of one is almost never the reason to buy it — if you want a specific card, buying that single is cheaper and certain. Boxes are for opening. Both are in the table above, so you can compare them directly.

How far back does the price history go?

Every card page carries a daily chart running back to Feb 8, 2024, and it gets one day longer every day. How far back depends on the card: Alpha and Beta run the full span, and a newer set starts from the day it was first listed. Where a window reaches further back than a card has been tracked, the figure is left blank rather than measured over a shorter period and labelled as a longer one.

Why are Curio cards and alternate arts not listed?

Because they do not trade on TCGplayer in any consistent way. Curios and most one-off alternate arts change hands privately or at auction, so there is no listing feed to read and any number here would be invented. This site tracks what has a public price. Everything from the main sets is here: Alpha, Beta, Arthurian Legends, Dragonlord, Gothic.

Who runs this, and do you sell cards?

One player, and no. Nothing is for sale here and no price is set here — the numbers come from TCGplayer, via tcgcsv.com, and this site only reads them. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Erik's Curiosa, who make the game. Treat it as a reference rather than financial advice, and check the live listing before money moves.
